what i packed

for my 5 day vacation

a few of my favorite things...

une: stuart weitzman platform sandals. i have drooled over these chunky sandals for nearly 6 months at nordstrom rack and finally managed to get my hands on them. lucky for me the only pair left was an 8.5 and they fit like a glove. really i am a size 9 so these must run a bit big. either that or i'm just delusional and think my foot fits perfectly :] whatever, i'm totally obsessed with them.

deux: "hang up" lipstick by mac. from time to time my mom and i gather together our mac containers to recycle at a mac store in return for a tube of lipstick. this time, i picked out "hang up". it's very similar to a stain i already have (thanks to my bff) but it has more purple undertones so it doesn't make me look ghostly white. it's the perfect deep plum-red color. i highly recommend.

trois: forever 21 sparkly heart shaped cross-body. as i am in the midst of packing for the river/vegas, i'm grabbing anything and everything i may want to wear while i'm in sin city. i've got outfits planned out and for one of the nights that my boyfriend and i plan on hitting the clubs, this little bag is a must. it accents my royal blue dress perfectly (photos will be posted later). although it holds absolutely nothing (my iphone doesn't even fit), it makes for one of the most adorable accessories especially when wrapped around my wrist and held like a clutch.

...and i'm ready to go. i'm leaving for the river/vegas tomorrow once i get off work. the family, some friends, and myself are going river trippin' until saturday then it's off to vegas with my boyfriend until monday! it's my first trip to vegas as a 21 year old so you can imagine my excitement :]

i happened to be doing my daily blog surfing and i discovered that this fashion frenzy is a friend of mine who i just met a couple of months ago. she had posted yesterday nearly a dozen photos of girls and their suitcases awaiting to depart on a trip. i thought it ironic and i am now posting my favorite of the nine pictures. i believe it is the most appropriate in relation to my destination.

aside from her impressive name, bambi is drop dead gorgeous. those amazing eyebrows. that perfect pout. that haunting stare. there really is nothing wrong with the girl.

i've had my eyes on these bad boys since solestruck released their  s/s 2011 lookbook a little over a month ago.  i haven't decided which color i like best. perhaps the turquoise since i don't have any shoes this color. or maybe the nude because its a staple for spring. or possibly black because... well, they're black. any way you look at 'em these kicks are perfect.

a few of my favorite things...

i've decided, after noticing most of the blogs i follow create a similar kind of post, that i will do "a few of my favorite things..." entry once a week showcasing some of my favs of the moment. here is my first entry:

une: white cheddar cheeto puffs. these are amazingly delicious and i enjoy sharing a bag from time to time with my pooch, lexi. they seem to be her favorite thing right now, too.

deux: rubber cement. without it, i would have been doomed with final projects last week. thanks to good ole mr. metzger, my color & design theory instructor first quarter, he taught us how to properly apply the adhesive. who knew adhering paper together was such an art form?

trois: giorgio armani book. it's HUGE. thanks to my aunt who resides in nyc, i am now the proud owner of this massive manual on the works of armani. i had meant to take it with me when i was visiting in february but there just wasn't enough room in any of my bags so she sent it to me (thanks AB!). it is complete with photographs, interviews, and a timeline of his life and career. i can't wait to devour it. did i mention it's huge?!

quatre: marc by marc jacobs 'totally turnlock' lucy tote. on my birthday i was the lucky recipient of this gorgeous leather bag. my best friend, maddie, and my mom went in on it together. it arrived a few days ago and i am completely obsessed. it's everything i've been looking for in an every day bag. now i can (finally!) retire my og black bag i got in nyc when i was 16. i still dig it no doubt, but it's seen better days.

i really admire her don't-give-a-f*ck style and carefree attitude. not to mention she is one of my favorite indie actresses to date. she recently launched a line for opening ceremony, most of which i adore (i'll take the mary jo black on black boots, please). model, actress, fashion icon, designer. can't beat that.

my first post

so i've finally decided to create a blog with the help of blogger.com. as some of you may already know, i have a tumblr that i created a little over a year ago. in recent weeks, i have collaborated with my best friend, maddie, to turn MY tumblr into OUR tumblr. as of now, we will continue to develop that to showcase our insight into the fashion world. but with this latest personal blog of mine, i hope to evolve and create something that will influence others to express themselves creatively as i am doing so here. i will exhibit here my findings of fashion, food, music, photography, and culture. i hope you all enjoy :]
